Time for Flu Vaccinations - 27th Mar 2017 to 31st Dec 2017

Time for Flu Vaccinations Around one in four New Zealanders are infected with influenza each year. Many don't feel sick at all , but can still pass it onto others.Getting an influenza vaccination before winter offers you and others the best protection.

Influenza is a serious illness that can put anyone in hospital or even kill them , including young and heathy people.

Pregnant women and their babies can suffer serious consequences as a result of influenza.A FREE influenza vaccination during any trimester of the pregnancy reduces this risk.

We are now able to supply FULLY FUNDED vaccinations to Preganant women and anyone over the age of 56 .

You can ring for an appointment or just call in.

As with any vacccine , there is a waiting time after the vaccine is given , this is to make sure treatment is quickly available if you have a rare , serious reaction.

As the vaccine is an inactivated form and doesn't contain any live viruses......therefore you cannot contract the flu from this vaccine.
It takes up to two weeks for the body to start developing protection after the vaccine,so if you are exposed to an influenza virus before or soon after this immunisation , you may still get influzena.
Some people can get reactions that are the bodys normal response to immunisation and usually resolve after a day or so. These include pain and/or redness at the site of injection. Feeling unwell or tired , and mild fever and muscle aches.
